Sometimes it is logistical. Often, it is leadership.

My path began on the water.

For many years, I worked as a boat captain, navigating vessels where precision, foresight, and responsibility were not optional — they were the standard.
I was born in San Diego into a Navy family and raised on Bainbridge Island, Washington, surrounded by evergreen forests and cold saltwater. The pull of sun and open water eventually carried me to Hawaii, where I found surfing — and where the ocean quietly set the course for everything that followed. I earned my captain’s seat at twenty-four, refined my craft at Seattle Maritime Academy, and was pursuing a captain’s position aboard private yachts when an unexpected opportunity arose on land — a different kind of vessel to steward. What I often call the “land yacht” became my next chapter.
Back on Maui, estate and property management felt like a natural evolution. For fifteen years I stewarded a vast estate in Kipahulu, Hawaiʻi, guiding raw land into a thriving botanical sanctuary. The scale changed, but the principles remained: protection of assets, operational excellence, thoughtful oversight, and hands-on leadership. From full property transformations and ground-up builds to landscape design, budgeting, vendor coordination, and long-term maintenance, I am present in every layer of the work.
To me, estate management is stewardship — ensuring that beauty, function, and value move in quiet harmony.

Surfing taught me patience, balance, and respect for forces larger than myself. In many ways, those same lessons guide how I care for the places and properties entrusted to me today.

From the first clearing of earth to the final turn of a handle, I carried the project in full — overseeing design conversations, coordinating trades, managing timelines and budgets, and guiding every phase from raw land to refined living. Every decision was deliberate. Every detail considered. Every challenge met with resolve.
What stands now is more than a finished structure. It is the result of steady leadership, hands-on execution, and a deep respect for craft. A home drawn from the ground up — thoughtfully built, carefully managed, and brought fully to life.

Love for Landscaping
For the past fifteen years, my stewardship of a vast estate in Kipahulu, Hawaiʻi has been an immersion in tropical abundance. What began as raw land in the deep, fertile tropics has evolved — season by season — into a thriving botanical sanctuary.
Cacao and soursop. Jaboticaba and sapote. Mango, guava, citrus, and countless others — each placed with intention. Each tree considered for canopy spread, root behavior, cross-pollination, long-term yield, and how it would contribute to the greater ecosystem.
This was never simply landscaping. It was cultivation in its truest sense — guiding raw land into a fruiting, botanical paradise. A living collection. A tropical orchard shaped by patience, knowledge, and a profound respect for the land.

- I serve private homes and estates across the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont, working from Plainfield, New Hampshire. That includes Plainfield, Meriden, Cornish, Lebanon, Hanover, Enfield, Grantham, New London, Sunapee in New Hampshire; and Norwich, Hartford, White River Junction, Quechee, Woodstock, Pomfret, Barnard, Windsor, Hartland in Vermont. - What does estate management actually include?

- Do you look after homes while the owners are away?
- Yes. This is a core part of the work for seasonal residents and absentee owners. It covers regular interior and exterior inspections on a set rhythm, confirmation that heat, water, power, and security are as they should be, checks after storms and hard freezes, and a trusted local presence who is the first call when something happens. The house is opened, warmed, and provisioned before you arrive, and secured properly after you leave.
- How does working together begin?
- In four steps. First a private consultation about the property, your expectations, and what matters most in how it is kept. Then a careful assessment of the home, its systems, grounds, existing vendors, and genuine recurring needs. From that comes a custom management plan covering inspections, maintenance, concierge needs, vendor coordination, and how you prefer to be kept informed. Then ongoing oversight, with documented updates season after season.
- Do you do the maintenance work yourself, or manage others?
- I manage. The role is oversight, coordination, and stewardship rather than hands-on trade work: choosing the right specialists, scheduling them, supervising the work, and holding it to the standard of the property. Having carried projects from raw land through to finished homes, I know what good work looks like at each phase — which is what makes the supervision worth something.
- Can you oversee a renovation or building project?
- Yes, as the owner’s representative. That means your interests carried into every meeting with architects, engineers, inspectors, and trades; scope defined and estimates challenged before contracts are signed; quality checked while it can still be corrected; and decisions, changes, warranties, and as-built records kept in order so the project’s knowledge stays with the property.
- What is your background?
- I spent many years as a licensed boat captain, trained at Seattle Maritime Academy, in work where precision and foresight were the standard rather than a preference.
